Oscar Perry Abello is a NYC-based journalist covering community development and economic justice in the United States. Since 2011, his writing has appeared online or in print for publications such as Fast Company, Next City, Impact Alpha,B the Change Media, and NextBillion.

Oscar spent the first six years of his career immersed full-time as online media specialist in global development, where he worked with some of the largest and most respected nonprofit organizations in the world (BRAC, Population Services International) as well as smaller organizations with a more niche, expert audience (Center for International Private Enterprise, Results for Development, UN Dispatch, DAWNS Digest).

Oscar is an alumnus of Villanova University, where he received a B.A. in Economics, with a minor in Peace and Justice Studies. Upon graduation, he was an inaugural co-recipient of the Solidarity Award, given by Villanova University's Center for Peace and Justice Education, "to a graduating senior or seniors in exceptional circumstances to recognize distinctive service to the cause of justice and peace."
